From Burnout to Clarity: Why I Built the Photography Business Audit
Mar 30, 2026
I remember sitting completely burned out... editing late into the night, overwhelmed with a growing workload, and constantly feeling like I needed to make more money, but without the time or energy to actually do it.
Photography was supposed to feel different.
It was supposed to be creative. Flexible. A way to stay home with my kids while still bringing in income and doing something I loved.
But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like that.
Instead, it became pressure, exhaustion, and a constant feeling of being behind.
After repeating that cycle more times than I can count, I finally realized I couldn’t keep pushing through it the same way and expecting something to change. So I took a step back and really looked at my business.
I started searching for help! Hoping there was something out there that could guide me through what I was missing. I found bits and pieces: social media tips, marketing advice, and general business strategies. There was helpful information everywhere, especially as social media grew.
But I could never find exactly what I needed.
I wasn’t looking for random tips.
I was looking for something that would help me fully step back and see my business clearly.
Something that would show me:
- what was working
- what wasn’t
- where I was losing time
- and how to actually fix it in a way that made sense for my life as a mom and photographer
Something simple. Structured. Honest. And actually doable.
Because I was a mom with young kids, I didn’t have hours to piece everything together. I needed clarity without overwhelm.
So I started building it myself.
I gathered everything I had learned over the years... things I had figured out the hard way, notes I had taken, questions I had asked other photographers, and patterns I noticed in their struggles too.
And slowly, things started to click.
I began to see exactly what needed to change in my business. Not in a “work harder” way, but in a “get clear on what actually matters” way.
The truth is, it took me almost a decade to figure out what I now teach in a much simpler way.
And that’s what led me here.
I finally turned everything I wish I had back then into something real. A guided course designed for overwhelmed photographers who are trying to build a sustainable, profitable business without burnout.
